Fire Maker Brewing Company is a start-up production brewery in West Midtown, Atlanta, Georgia. A strong team, like a great beer, is the sum of its parts. Our next necessary ingredient is the Taproom Bartender.

Our Taproom is the face of our company. We have approximately 2,000 sq ft of beautifully decorated Taproom space, including a temperature-controlled patio and small event space. In the back, we work to fill our 30+ taps by brewing on a 20 bbl system for year-round and seasonal beers and a 2.5 bbl pilot system to keep fresh flavors flowing. We’ll be open to the public Wednesday-Sunday each week.

Position Summary:  

Our Taproom Bartender/server will be working alongside and reporting to our Taproom Management. They are responsible for an unparalleled level of guest satisfaction, beer knowledge, and hospitality, in addition to regular duties. We are a family of genuine and knowledgeable people that are driven, motivated, hard-working, and up to the challenge of being the face of the company.

This person will be responsible for guest satisfaction, taproom cleaning, beverage serving, food serving, and anything else that may “hop” up, taproom or brewery. We are seeking out an enthusiastic hospitality professional who is looking for full-time work. We need someone who is willing to bring new ideas to the table but can take direction and work together as a team. Our team is made up of individuals who are excited to learn more about beer, share that with others, and provide top-notch guest service every day. Essential Functions:  

• Adheres to responsible serving of alcohol (TIPS) guidelines 

• Serves Fire Maker’s product with a wealth of knowledge & courteous fashion  

• Keeps our Taproom and surrounding areas clean! Our employees should feel like this is their business to show off and keep top notch, 24/7. 

• Assist wherever needed – Taproom or Brewery  

• Maintains a strong relationship with regular guests as well as new guests.  

• Assists in maintenance of merchandise (Inventory, organization, displays, etc) 

• Supports daily functions of a taproom – cleaning glassware, bussing spaces, pouring beers, filling crowlers, offering a wealth of Fire Maker beer knowledge, etc.  

• Supports coworkers during shifts to enable a smooth-running operation.  

• Participate in festivals and promotions as needed 

• Able to keep a flexible schedule  

• Understanding that additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned as our jobs evolve and grow.  

Required Qualifications: 

• Be a Fire Maker. We are looking for an individual who wants to exceed their goals and pursue their passions.  

• To be successful, you must be able to perform daily duties in a timely and efficient manner, to a satisfactory level. 

• Must be a team player! This person will be willing to step in whenever and wherever we may need. 

• Actively looks for ways to make every Fire Maker guest feel like they are at home and in a space they can learn more about beer.  

• Punctuality, work ethic, integrity, verbal and written skills and a stellar attitude.  

• Excitement for craft beer and all things Atlanta!  

• Ability to become a Cicerone Certified Beer Server within one month of employment. 

• Ability to become TIPS Certified within one week of employment.  

Preferred Qualifications:  

• Previous beercentric/hospitality experience (2 yrs) 

• First Level Cicerone Certified  

• TIPS Certification  

• Works well under pressure and high-volume environments 

Job Requirements & Details: 

• Must be able to move full kegs (150lbs) 

• Must be 21 years old or older 

• Ability to stand for long periods of time 

• Night and weekend availability, as well as some holidays.  

• Motivated to stay busy and create opportunities out of down time.  

• Greeting and welcoming guests into our dope taproom!  

• Must be able to represent our brand to anyone who walks into the taproom as well as out and about in your day to day life.  

• Thorough knowledge of Fire Maker products and story. 

• Function as a team and step in wherever needed when able to, whether that is taproom or brewery. 

• Willingness to clean draft lines, restrooms and other taproom related areas. Our space should be so fresh and so clean, clean. 

• Attention to detail and drive to exceed expectations  

• Must be a friendly and engaging member of our team 

• Must complete and pass Cicerone Level One, the Certified Beer Server Exam, within 30 days of hire.  

• Cash handling and use of a Point of Sale software (Arryved) 

• Must become TIPS certified within 7 days of hire  

• Craft Beer Enthusiasm – Required  

• Craft Beer Knowledge – Preferred, but not required 

• Bonus points if you can name your favorite Disney movie

• The employee is serving alcoholic beverages – they will regulate consumption of guests as needed and will never be intoxicated while on the clock. 

• The employee may at times work around hot water, steam, broken glass, hazardous chemicals and CO2 sources 

• The employee works with an upbeat attitude and contributes to the general success of the taproom
